It is not easy to make corporate identity powerful without integrating some elements of creativity. This is a problem that challenges many designers. Most of them are carried away by something that is too trendy. As a result, they end up creating a web page or logo that matches with one that already exists.
Corporate identity design should be something unique, original, and artistic. Be it your company logo, website, brochure or flyer, it has to stand out in the crowd to reinforce your brand identity. You will be able to create a robust corporate design only if you respect your own decision, and not influenced by trendy graphics.
In this article, readers will be educated about how to be more creative while designing for a corporate identity.
Avoid Direct Sources of Inspiration
While logo designing for a company, avoid relying too much on direct sources of inspiration. Now, what are these direct sources? They are inspirational sites, already published works, CSS galleries, online magazines, books and so on. If you develop the habit of looking at such sources every now and then, your creative abilities will be curbed. Therefore, think independently.
Refer to indirect sources for developing your creative acumen. Think ‘out of the box’ to conceptualize a business logo or a unique web page navigation. Sit with a pencil and paper to create rough sketches. This will let your creative juices flow better !
Keep Away from That Damn PC !
Contemporary graphic artists have become over reliant on gadgets and technology. This is not a good sign for creative professionals. In order to build a great business website, it is important that you keep away from your PC or laptop for sometime. The PC is only a machine that is operated by human beings. It cannot perform any creative task on its own, unless the human grey cells give the right commands.
I am not saying that computers are not essential for designing. It is, but only after you successfully conceptualized a logo. Keep away from your laptop for sometime, and take a notepad with you. Think of the words or images that come to your mind when you want to conceptualize a business. Jot down words or phrases that best describe your client’s business.
You can even take a few snaps of something interesting. It can be anything. When you get some time to refresh yourself by doing something you enjoy, it will boost your creativity.
Take A Look at Art Work
If no creative ideas are coming to your mind, simply visit art galleries to appreciate some contemporary paintings. Looking at paintings or sculptures can give you original and novel ideas. These are great sources of inspiration.
A wise implementation of a specific color on canvas might help you apply the right background color for your client’s home page. It is not possible to get such marvelous ideas just by staring at your computer screen all the the time.
